Looking Forward

A lot has kinda happened these past weeks. TLDR internships are still a struggle :/, but one my strengths that I credit for how far I've gotten is grit. Something I've gained recently is a new spark to work on a few projects I've been inspired to do. One I'll keep in stealth for a bit, but its going to be a really cool robotics project. Another project I want to do is a friend matching app using clustering.

I think this app will be a fun way to meet new people who are similar to you. I also want to the app to be customized towards WashU so I can ask WashU specific questions. I think that would be a lot more fun than marriage pact. I also want to keep the same vibe of waiting for matches, but instead of just one match you get multiple. I want it to be a type of app where you have to commit more to your friend matches, rather than just swiping them away. I also think this app can be a way to get impact, as I think WashU students would be interested in participating. I think that'll be pretty neat and out of my god awful datascience class, I really did enjoy learning about KNN clustering, it's pretty interesting and a cool approach to certain problems.
My mental
Personally, my resolve is taking a hit bit by bit everyday. The whole internship grind is annoying, as you're playing a game you can't receive feedback on. Was it the resume, my lack of experience, location, or just bad luck? It's nice on your mental in the beginning where you say, "oh its just bad luck" then the numbers start increasing and it becomes like, will no amount of effort make me enough? Now, I am not a person to hate on my peer's success at all, I truly believe anyone at WashU's win is a win for everyone here as our name brand gets spread more and more. But it's just exhausting, but i'm also getting a sort of, deja vu. All throughout highschool I always played catch up and I had to essentially show that I was capable. I thought I was over it, but I think this may be another case where I have to show that I am capable. Which is where the two projects I'm planning will do. They'll be so technically impressive that they can't ignore it.
Project Impact Plans
What I mean by they can't ignore it is that I want these projects to gain traction outside of my resume. The match project I believe can, or at the very least get a user number and maybe even expand to other schools. It'll be a friend alternative to datamatch and marriage pact that's more often. My robotics project idea is what's keeping me going though, as I believe it can truly be revolutionary. I want to get it affiliated with WashU robotics first though, and I believe that it'll be a project that would help me most in new grad as its gonna be pretty big. But if i can grind and get something awesome by next fall, then that would be crazy. We'll see where things go though. I'll probably make my next post a philosophy post maybe, atleast how I see things. I think a lot of people could benefit from it, especially on their mental. TLDR, the best thing we can do is hope, and be at the bus stop
